#132 Ashley Hann - Creating Magnetic ConfidenceThis week's episode will actually be in Swedish as we have an incredible Swede here.

#125 Brett Botelho - Ninety Percent MentalThis week's guest is a new friend om mine and someone that I truly admire. For most of his life he has dealt with medical issues. It started early in his life with a life-threatening car accident at the age of two. Throughout his childhood having surgeries and being diagnosed became normal. At the age of ten he was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder that twice left him paralyzed from the neck down for nine months each time. This lead to multiple ankle surgeries, hip replacements and eventually an amputation.
Through this entire process he found an inner spirit to do the things that he loved, even if he had to do them in pain. #124 Chris Plourde - Fill Your CupThis week I want to introduce our guest in his own words, simply because I recognize myself in so much of what he says, and maybe you will to:
"I used to think exercise was all about just putting my head down and getting it done—that what mattered was low body fat, ripped abs and winning. Man, was I wrong! Many years ago, after completing a triathlon, I reached a point that allowed me to see how I was showing up in sport and in LIFE...my training was forced, my life was unbalanced and I was pretty miserable. I was so focused on the outcome that I was missing out entirely on enjoying and learning from the process, or more importantly, noticing the slow transformation that was taking place so I could remember (and use it) it later on. From that time on, I have shifted my perspective and been more focused on the journey, not the destination, as a way of achieving fulfillment of my life's goals. I can't tell you what a difference it has made." Lets welcome this week's guest the conscious performance coach Chris Plourde that has one simple philosophy: "The way you approach one thing in life is the way you approach everything in life, and it begins from the inside out.” |
#123 Lisa Fierer - Change Your Life Before Life Changes YouLisa Fierer grew up in the small town Morton, Illinois. She was the youngest of four children born to Joshua, her well-respected pathologist father and her opera singer mother, Mary.
One day in December, 1984, her life was changed forever. Called out of class to the principal's office, Lisa was told that her mother had been killed and her father had been arrested for the crime. Over the next twenty years, Lisa battled through school, addiction, relationships and various forms of self-destruction. Along the way she learned that the effects of loss, violence and betrayal create a deep desire for something different. Lisa's journey takes her to doing yoga while sitting on her Harley, lost in the wilds of Wyoming, to the experience of death and rebirth in the Native American ceremony of Sundance, to mountain biking with elephants in Thailand, to the banks of the Ganges where she finally lets her father's ashes go. Today we will share a story about the distance between the lives we are given and the lives we choose. It's a story about survival, hope, yoga, self-discovery and the tremendous support of compassionate communities. It touches the part of each of us that longs for the healing power of laughter, the transformative force of forgiveness and the bravery required to learn to love again. |
