"There is a big difference of losing temporarily and being a loser."
Before we dive in to todays article I want to tell you that I don't believe that there are real losers out there, I only believe that there is a lot of people that consistently make the wrong choices and with a little bit of guidance they can actually turn their whole life around. By learning and applying knowledge in my own life I have managed to go from the losing to the winning column (in my mind I never felt like a loser and that was what kept me going as an athlete until I found the right recipe for winning)!
Definition of a loser (according to Merriam-Webster):
1: a person or thing that loses especially consistently
2: a person who is incompetent or unable to succeed; also : something doomed to fail or disappoint
Almost always I write posts about what you should do but today I want to adress some of the traits that "losers" have on a consistent basis just to show you that these are just traits and not something permanent. No matter if you have them or not you can always change for the better and improve your life, happiness and success.
Be honest to yourself (sometimes the truth hurts) and move forward to change the bad habits in your own life. I can't promise you that it will be easy, but I can promise you that it will be worth it!
The 5 Habits of a Loser
1. Listens to everyones advise
The other day I had a lecture about goal settings. After the lecture one of the attendants came to me with a whole list of advise to improve my lecture. Instead of focusing on my message he had been focused on judging my performance during the whole lecture. After he had given me all his advise I asked him if he was a public speaker. The answer was no. So the question is, should I listen to him? Or should I listen to the speakers that are actually 5-10 years ahead of me in their career?
Take advice and be humble but be careful to listen to everybody's advise. A lot of people will try to give you advice without even knowing anything about the specific area. The losers listens to everybody and the winners listens to the people that knows what they are talking about.
2. Chases to many things at one time
"If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one."
People that loses constantly almost always focus on to many things at one time. They do a lot of things halfway with poor results. The winners in life, do one thing a a time (off course there are exceptionally strong-minded people that can handle many things at one time, but they are rare). A winner knows that you don't have to do everything but you need to do one thing with 100% focus.
3. Changes direction to soon
Do you change direction as soon as something go wrong? Many times in life the people that won't get the results they want change direction to soon and start questioning what they do way to early. It takes time to get results and you need to be patient and keep moving forward, doing the same thing over and over again before you will se the results showing up in your life.
4. Makes the same mistake over and over
I meet a lot of people that complain over their lives while drinking the same beer, eating the same burger and thinking the same thoughts. They never learn from their mistakes and go forward.
If we look at the winners, they make a mistake once or twice and learn and never do it again. Some exceptional winners even see others peoples mistakes and learn from them so that they don't even have to make them theirselves.
5. Has a negative inner voice
Losing people almost always have a poor mental strength, Even if they are not bad at what they do, they tell themselves that they are. In contrary the winners in life have a positive inner dialogue with themselves. As the greatest boxer of all time Muhammad Ali said (may he rest in peace): "I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was."
Now the question is?
What is your next step?

Before we dive into todays lesson, let me first say thank you. I am so grateful that you want to read my articles. I am grateful because I know you are a person with a mission, a person that wants to live a great life full of health, good relationships, money, travel, adventure and all their is that you are searching for.
My mission is: to help people succeed better by changing their mindset and working with goals in a new, fun and much more efficient way.
Now when we got that out of the way lets talk about taking you closer to your dreams and goals.
What if I told you that there is a way (that is not even that hard) that will take you 1000 steps closer to your goal. Would you believe me?
There is a way and today I will teach you how to take those small, small steps every day that will eventually add upp to massive success.
For a minute or two just think about your goals. What would happen with them if you took a 1000 small steps closer to them? (Many people tell me that they not even need a thousand steps to achieve their goals.)
Let me give you two examples:
1000 steps of $10 each would add up to $10,000.
Running 3 miles thousand times would add upp to 3000 miles of running.
So this is what I do, and you could do it to.
Every morning before I start working on a post-it I write down three small things that will take me closer to my long term goal.
After writing down these tree small things which I call Today's 3 make sure to do one of the things instantly. Don't wait, use your morning momentum (if you are not a morning person, do it anyway).
Ok, now you might be thinking that this won't work for you because you have a hundred things on your to-do list. Remember this is not a to-do list. This is a list with only one focus to get you closer to your dreams.
Keep doing this every day for a year and you will see tremendous results in your life. If you want accountability post your Today's 3 on social media with the hashtagg: #ilovesuccess

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
IT IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE DONE IT
Do you remember the time before Google? You know when you asked mom or dad why things where a certain way. For example: "Why is it important to get married?" or "Why do you have to work?"
The answer was often: "Because that is the way it's has always been done."
There is so many things we do just because "it's always been done like that". But the rules has changed and the world to. We don't longer have to do everything like it's always been done, we can actually do what's right for us. Many times that is actually a lot better.
Where you like many raised with the view that life should be like this:
Have you really thought about how you spend your time and money?
How much are you really making per day and it is worth it?
Sarah has a well paid job as an administrative manager in a small company. It is not her dream job (her passion is food & travel) but it pays her bills and "sponsors" her life style. Let's take a closer look at her finances.
Salary after taxes: $3,600
Clothes & entertainment: $200
Credit payments: $300
Money left after expenses: $500
How much is really Sarahs salary per hour after she has paid all her expenses?
Let's assume that Sarah works 160 hours per month (40 h/week).
$500 (money left after expenses) / 160 (monthly hours worked) ≈ $3/hour.
$3 x 8 (one workday) = $24
Is it really worth sacrificing your best years doing something you don't like just to make a few bucks a day?
It is up to you, all of us have different goals and dreams. Some people can have a job that they not love because they just see it as a job and shut it off when they get home.
When I got fired a few years ago I realized that it wasn't worth it to work for somebody else. I got to learn the hard way and had to get fired to get the real motivation to start creating my own business. But deep inside me I had always known that I wanted to go my own way and spend my days doing what I love.
Do what you want to do and don't wait:
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
Just because people have done things a certain way for a long time it doesn't automatically mean that its right.
Go your own way and don't get a job - Create one!
If you need help in getting there you should read my book The Goal Book: How to Achieve Your Dreams and Create a Better Life. The Goal Book will help you set goals and give you the tools to actively work with them every day.
