"People with good intentions make promises but people with good character keep them." As a lifelong martial artist my Sensei (trainer) and father always told me to keep my promises. He told me that if you say something, then you do it. Always honor your word. That is why my word is very important to me because I want to be a person with character and integrity. Unfortunately nowadays a lot of people talk a lot and do nothing. Let me tell you one example from my own life that I would like to share with you. A few months ago I arranged a Boot Camp. Ten people voluntarily signed up to join. Do you know how many people that showed up? 1. Only one person of ten showed up to something that they voluntarily said that they wanted to do, no one forced them. Isn't that strange you think? How can you expect great results, great friendships, great relationships and a great life if you can't even keep a promise? How is it for you? How important is your word? Do you keep promises to friends, family, partners, customers and most importantly to yourself? Today I will give you a few reasons as two why you should start acting like a true martial artist and start keeping your word. When you do, you will start noticing how your life will change. You will feel better and start to get a lot better results in life. Why You Should Start Keeping Your Word

Have you ever heard people say the phrase "It is really hard to do that!" about a task, subject or accomplishment they never even tried of doing? I hear it everyday. Last time was yesterday when a colleague of mine said: "It is really hard to market a book." My follow up question was: "Have you ever done it?" She said no. This happens everyday to a lot of people. They tell someone in their surrounding about a goal or dream and get the standard phrase "It is really hard to do that!" from a person that doesn't know shit (pardon my French) about the subject. This is why today I want to tell you to be very, very careful to which person you are listening to. Nothing is really impossible, it could be difficult and take som time but with the right strategy and execution you could do it. Remember though that you need the right persons around you. Through the course of my lifetime people has always laughed at me when I told them about my goals:
When no one believed in me, I believed in myself and found other people that had done what I wanted to do. I followed their way and dared to go after what I want. I don't tell you this to brag or to show off, I simply want to share with you that if I can, I know you can too! Let me give you a few tips on how to dare to go after what you really want even when people tells you: "It is really hard to do that!" 5 Tips To Accomplish Your GoalsTip #1: Choose your tribe
Do you think you can become a World Champion of anything by hanging out with people who doesn't have ambition? Iron sharpens iron so make sure to hang out with people that is doing what you want to be doing in 5-10 years from now. Also find people around you that support you and makes you stronger not weaker. Tip #2: Work on yourself You don't need money to build your empire. The only thing you need right now is determination and a positive attitude. Work on yourself so you became strong mentally. Tip #3: Have patience Did you know that Coca Cola only sold 25 bottles the first year in business? That didn't stop them, the kept going and the rest is history. You can usually get what you want but you need to have patience because many times it takes longer than you have expected. Tip #4: The feeling of wanting to give up is a good sign When you feel like giving up, remember that it is a sign. It is a good sign which means that this is now most people would have given up, but not you. It is simply a weeding out process, every time you feel like this someone else is quitting. Don't let it be you! Tip #5: Learn more Knowledge is the single most important thing for success. The more you know about your area the bigger chances for success. Always take time to learn and remember that you can learn something from anyone, just keep you eyes open and be willing to learn. If you need help in getting there you should read my book The Goal Book: How to Achieve Your Dreams and Create a Better Life. The Goal Book will help you set goals and give you the tools to actively work with them every day. You can also get started by taking my FREE 7-DAY GOAL SETTING CHALLENGE. Today I am starting a crazy challenge. I will challenge myself to create the best work of my life at a pace of 3x a "regular" person while at the same time enjoying myself. Do you want to join? Imagine when we succeed, then we have created 6 months of high caliber work in just about two months (58 days). Goal: 6 months of world class work in 58 days while still enjoying life = 3 X In this blog post I will give you a few pointers and tips to work out your own strategy to create 6 months of work in only 2 months, Success Factors:
On the pictures above you can see a few of my notes from last night when I made my strategy for my challenge. Two things that I always try to emphasize when I am setting goals and making plans is to never sacrifice my health and relationships. I know (and you should too) that a good health and good relationships is the key to actually excel in anything. Ok so you want to create 6 months of work in 2 months but don't know where to start. Follow my easy guide to get started. How To Do 6 Months of Work Before Summer1. Write down what it is that you want to accomplish.
2. Write down why you are doing this and what it will feel like when you have accomplished your goal. 3. Make a strategy - what do you have to do on a daily and weekly basis (this is the key ingredient, you need to find out and write down exactly what it is that you want to accomplish). 4. Focus on doing as many quality activities (don't settle for nothing less than your best work) as possible and the results will follow. 5. Make a plan on how to take care of your health and relationships. I am starting right now, and I hope you do too! Remember that stress doesn't come from what's going on in your life. It comes from your thoughts about what's going on in your life. A few days ago when I was drinking my morning coffee I started to philosophize about stress and what it means to my life. I am usually very good at handling stress and most times I believe I got my day covered, mostly because I have created great habits which include exercise, meditation, healty diet, friends, relationships, just enough quality sleep etc. BUT, the last days I saw myself doing all the same mistakes that I help other people discover and change. I was rushing to finish every task. I did five tasks at one time and finished none. I didn't plan my days. Basically I did all the beginners mistakes you can do when it comes to stress and being unproductive. Do you recognize yourself? So I was thinking what if the word stress didn't even exist. How would life look like then? Would I get more or less done? Would the quality of my work be better or worse? Let me tell you what I discovered and what the research in the area says. Resarch shows that too little stress can lead to boredom and depression but to much stress can cause anxiety and poor health. When you find the right amount of stress it tunes up the brain and improves your performance and health. The last few days instead of stressing I decided to plan my days and work focused with one task at a time. Instead of worrying about five things I started with only one thing at a time. The results were astonishingly good:
Five things you can do to stress less
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” "I so want to do it, but I am afraid." "What are you afraid of?" "I am afraid that people won't like me." "What else?" "That's it, I don't want to be disliked." Have you ever had this conversation with yourself? Let's be honest here. If everybody likes you then you are doing it wrong. Simple is that. If everybody likes you then you are not living life to your fullest potential. Don't sell yourself short in life, if you have a passion for something, have a dream or really want to do something, then you should go do it, period! It doesn't matter what you do there will always be people talking you down. It is normal. Does the thought of being disliked scare you? It certainly scares me, but I have realized that when people want you to fail or talking you down, it is a sign of weakness on their side, not yours. They are insecure themselves and are afraid to go after what they want so they figure they talk other people down instead. Don't bother, instead focus on the people that is out there hustling, grinding and working hard for their dreams. They know the taste of failure, they know the taste of other peoples trash talk. But they also know the sweet, sweet taste of success. That feeling when preparation meets opportunity. Today I will give you a little exercise. I want you to answer three questions. It will take you approximately 10-15 minutes. Answer the questions now, don't wait!
Write this down and please be honest to yourself. You can lie to others (even if its not good), but please don't lie to yourself. If you want a little more help with your dreams, you should take my 100 % FREE 7-Day Goal Book Challenge. Check it out here Have a great week and don't sell yourself short, you deserve a life that you are proud of! Welcome to Part 2 of the article series: How to feel good about yourself. This monday we covered how to feel good about yourself externally. I you haven't read Part 1 yet you can read it here: How To Feel Good About Yourself - Part 1 Externally Today we will talk about what you can do to improve your mental game, to actually feel better about yourself. Did you know that a human thinks about 65,000 thoughts per day? 95 percent of those thoughts are the same as you thought yesterday. It means that if you don’t change the way you think it will be hard to make a change. On the other hand: if you learn to master your thoughts and think the thoughts that are right for you, you will enter the right track. This is one of the reasons that some people can win again and again and succeed more and more, they are not better but mentally stronger. Come along, because below I will show you a few exercises and techniques that you can use to feel good about yourself internally. Internal Things To Do To Feel Good About Yourself
What can you start implementing in your day right away? Go for it, it works for me and I am almost certain that it will work for you! Just type in you e-mail below and you are good to go. This weekend I washed my car, got my hair cut, shaved, trimmed my body hair, exercised, had a massage and dressed up. And you know what happened to me? It made me feel so incredibly good about myself. This week we will talk about what you can do to feel good about yourself, because when you love yourself you give other people the opportunity to do the same. It is hard to attract your dream partner, have great friends or land that big deal if you don't feel good about yourself. In todays post we will cover the external parts that can affect our happiness and on thursday I will share my thoughts on how you can work with yourself internally to love yourself. I know you are a busy person so lets cut to the chase. What can you really do to feel good about yourself? First of all let me tell you why I am writing this. My goal for you (and myself) is to become a master of life. That leads to the question: What is a master of life? My definition of a master of life: "A person that feels that he/she is successful in all parts of life and have a balance between the areas of Health, Money, Personal Goals, Relationships and the Social aspects of life." I don't care how other people define success the most important thing is that you feel successful and that is something that only you can decide. For some people success is earning a million dollars, for others its ten million and for others it is to be healthy, It is up to you but be honest to yourself and choose yourself instead of being affected by how society value success. External Things To Do To Feel Good About YourselfFunny enough a lot of these things are traits that my father and grandfather used to teach me (both very successful in their fields).
How many of these traits do you practice on a daily basis? Give it a try, it works for me and I am almost certain that it will work for you! On thursday we will cover how you can work with your mental attitude to feel good about yourself. I you want more tips like these you should join my exclusive success group. It is 100% FREE and I will even give you two free chapters of my life changing book The Goal Book. Just type in you e-mail below and you are good to go. "The true character of a person is showed when failure is present. It is easy to be a winner that wins but its harder when you believe in what you do and know you can do it but still fail time after time" The other day when I was at a café I overheard two girls discussing their future, or at least their very near future. Girl 1: "I am so looking forward to going out tonight in Hollywood." Girl 2: "Yeah, I know. I am so excited." Girl 1: "I hope we meet some celebrities tonight." Girl 2: "Yeah that would be great, maybe we will get discovered." Discovered for what? Unfortunately a lot of people (especially in LA) believe that they somehow by dancing and drinking next to a celebrity will get discovered. The dream conversation will go something like this: Celebrity (approaching dancing girl): "You look like a great actor. Would you like to star in my next movie?" Dancing girl: "Yaay, of course." It could happen, but let's get real here, chances are one in a million. Instead of believing in luck, it is time to put in the hours to actually have something to offer. 3 Important Traits of Successful PeopleI study success for a living and what I have seen in all successful people is these three (among many more) traits:
1. They are constantly learning If you watch and listen to the greatest athletes of all times you will start to realize that despite how many World Titles or Olympic Gold Medals they have won they still want to learn and improve. Why is that do you think? Because they want to win over others but most importantly they want to know how good they can really become. 2. They party less and work more If you still believe you can get discovered in the club or on the street please forget about that for a while. Invest your time and money wiser than hitting up the clubs everyday. Off course you have to enjoy life but if you really want to be good at something you have to put in the hours. Research show that to become an expert in any given skill you have to spend about 10000 hours doing it. That's 3 hours a day for 10 years, so lets go! 3. They let failure fuel them The true character of a person is showed when failure is present. It is easy to be a winner that wins but its harder when you believe in what you do and know you can do it but still fail time after time. The most successful people have failed many times, just like you and me, the big (and only) difference is that they let the failure fuel them to go forward, learn and be better next time. Thank you for your time, I hope you liked the post. I you want more tips like these you should join my exclusive success group. It is 100% FREE and I will even give you two free chapters of my life changing book The Goal Book. Just type in you e-mail below and you are good to go. “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” IT IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE DONE ITDo you remember the time before Google? You know when you asked mom or dad why things where a certain way. For example: "Why is it important to get married?" or "Why do you have to work?" The answer was often: "Because that is the way it's has always been done." There is so many things we do just because "it's always been done like that". But the rules has changed and the world to. We don't longer have to do everything like it's always been done, we can actually do what's right for us. Many times that is actually a lot better. Where you like many raised with the view that life should be like this:
Have you really thought about how you spend your time and money? How much are you really making per day and it is worth it? EXAMPLE:
Sarah has a well paid job as an administrative manager in a small company. It is not her dream job (her passion is food & travel) but it pays her bills and "sponsors" her life style. Let's take a closer look at her finances. Salary after taxes: $3,600 Monthly expenses: Rent: $1,500 Food: $400 Transportation: $300 Clothes & entertainment: $200 Insurance: $300 Credit payments: $300 Miscellaneous: $100 Total: $3,100 Money left after expenses: $500 How much is really Sarahs salary per hour after she has paid all her expenses? Let's assume that Sarah works 160 hours per month (40 h/week). $500 (money left after expenses) / 160 (monthly hours worked) ≈ $3/hour. $3 x 8 (one workday) = $24 Is it really worth sacrificing your best years doing something you don't like just to make a few bucks a day? It is up to you, all of us have different goals and dreams. Some people can have a job that they not love because they just see it as a job and shut it off when they get home. When I got fired a few years ago I realized that it wasn't worth it to work for somebody else. I got to learn the hard way and had to get fired to get the real motivation to start creating my own business. But deep inside me I had always known that I wanted to go my own way and spend my days doing what I love. Do what you want to do and don't wait: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Just because people have done things a certain way for a long time it doesn't automatically mean that its right. Go your own way and don't get a job - Create one! “The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching.”
OK, so let's be honest here. You want the good life, I want the good life, everybody wants the good life. And everyone can have the good life but far from everyone will have the good life.
Why is that? The questions is hard but the answer simple: Effort Most people are just to lazy to really, and I mean really put in the effort it takes to master a skill. And that makes me sad, especially if you are a person that comes from a good upbringing and have all the resources except your own willpower. So you want to be a millionaire or have six pack abs or start your own company? Or maybe you want all of it. It is there for you to take but you have to be willing to put in the effort it takes to actually become that hard working (and smart working) person. That's why I love famous coach John Woodens quote: “The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching.” Lets think about it. What are you doing when no one is watching? Are you willing to wake up before the rest of the world, are you willing to work late nights, are you willing to educate yourself to become a master at your skill? If not, don't waste your time reading this post. But if you are ready to become your dreams and work hard and smart for what you want, you have come to the right place. Keep reading today I will challenge you (in a fun and motivating way) to become closer to the best you.
Effort is important, but first comes passion. If there is no passion there is no motivation to put in the effort it takes.
What are you passionate about? What are you willing to do all day for free (or even pay for)? One of my biggest passions since I was 6 years old has been karate, expect for the first few months when I first went to training with my father. I undressed the karate uniform and ran out of class naked. But things changed and my passion grew. My passion grew so strong that I was willing to train hard every day until I became really good (despite my lack of talent). In the beginning I was really bad, but my passion, effort and patience outgrew my competition and I managed to become a national champion 8 times and even win a bronze medal at the 2012 Shotokan World Championship. That was 90% effort and only 10% talent. If I can, you can! It is all about your effort. The Challenge
Today I am going to challenge you.
You want to take your life to the next level but don't know where to start. The 7-day Goal Book Challenge is a 7-day challenge designed to give you a kickstart to your new and better life. A life closer to your dreams and goals. Ready to get started? Read below to get all the details:The Rules
